The Village of Angel Fire has now accepted all District subdivisions for maintenance. A contract with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative to pull electrical wire through buried conduit as needed is expected to be complete in 2017. With the exception of installing the remainder of the electrical wire, all infrastructure improvements specified in the General Plan are complete.
The Village of Angel Fire, New Mexico adopted Resolution No. 2008-07 creating Public Improvement District (“District”) No. 2007-1 on February 14, 2008.
The Formation Resolution No. 2008-7 authorized the appointed Board of Directors to finance and construct certain public infrastructure improvement upon real property in the District. It shall impose a Special Levy upon the Real Property within the District to finance the Improvements.
The District was subsequently approved by 85% of voters at an election of District Real Property owners held on April 21, 2008. Voter turnout was 73%. Angel Fire Resort held 27% of the total possible number of votes. Its votes represented 44% of the votes in favor of forming the District. Excluding the Angel Fire Resort votes, the District was approved by 76% of the voters. The Notice of Imposition of the Special Levy was recorded in the real property records of Colfax County, New Mexico on June 4, 2008.
The District is a political subdivision of the State of New Mexico.
